The Morris Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Patrick Bracey & Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Mike & Billie Schwarz, Randy Hamilton. The meeting was called to order at 7:00.
Public Participation: Randy Hamilton stated that the tax collector and VFD audits have been completed and had questions about temporary trailer fees and prices on mowing, cleaning, etc.
Motion by Dietrich to approve the minutes from the previous meeting as written, seconded by Bartolotto, all in favor.
Road Report and Financial Report were available for review. Police Report was read by Bracey.
Fire report by Dietrich: 21 calls in the last month, two answered during work hours.
Old Business: Discussion of Covered Bridge paving project. The Twp has a County Block Development Grant to pave the road but an engineering report must be done prior to the project start. Discussion on whether to use Harshman and pay for it ourselves, or to use the County chosen engineer and take it out of grant funds. Either way, the project is going to cost the same and we will pay for the difference. Motion by Dietrich to get info on both choices and go with the less expensive one. Seconded by Bracey, all in favor.
Act 537 Update: Discussion of mining under property in the future and if it’s worth it to take the land donation from Consol.
Truck update: Cab and chassis have been sent to J&J. After they are finished, they will be sent to Stephenson for to be completed. No definite timeline yet.
New Business: Representative Tim O’Neal will be attending next month’s meeting.
Motion by Bracey to adopt Resolution #1 of 2025 to appoint the CPA firm Wm. T Grimm & Associates to do the 2024 audit up to a maximum of $2,000.00.
After discussion, Motion by Bracey to purchase a tv for the conference room for presentations or trainings. Seconded by Bartolotto, all in favor.
Randy asked if we could also look info microphones for people who can’t hear what is said at the meetings. Bracey will look into prices.
Sun Life Policy is up for renewal. Supervisors will review and make a decision at the March meeting.
Motion by Bartolotto to review and pay bills, seconded by Dietrich. All in favor.
