The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Dave Dietrich and Patrick Bracey, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Mike & Billie Schwarz, Pegg & Doug Smith.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00.
Public Participation: Randy had a number of questions/comments on the Act 537 Planning (not started yet) , the property from Consol (still waiting on deed) , Dry Run Road slips, the truck repair status (motor ordered), the consolidated zoning ordinance that was discussed last year, and past minutes.
Mike asked about the garage doors for the cinder shed. Bid ad is being prepared for them.
Motion by Bartolotto to approve the minutes from the last meeting as written. Seconded by Dietrich. All agreed.
Police report was given by Bartolotto.
Fire report by Dietrich: There were 12 calls last month, 2 responded to during work hours.
Road Report was available for review.
Old Business: Schoolhouse painting fund is up to $6,950.00, donations are still coming in. Doug would like approval from the board to apply for the LSA grant funding to cover the rest. That request will be added to the agenda for the next meeting.
New business: The MMO for 2025 Township Contribution to the Pension Fund was presented by the Secretary.
CNX has a number of heavy haul agreements up for renewal. They are: Deer Park(2), Archer, Timberline, Penn Hill, Harvey, Cabin and Dry Run Rd. The engineering reports were reviewed, and it was decided to renew all but the Dry Run agreement pending the slip repairs.
Motion by Bracey to approve all agreement renewals except Dry Run. Seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.
Discussion on Police Department’s computer, which was messed up when the power went off a number of times in one day. They would like to have it turned in to the insurance company to get it replaced. Secretary will check with insurance company to see if it will increase our premium to file a claim or not.
A FEMA letter was received by the township about random inspections for Flood Plain Administrators. There was discussion on the Floodplain administrator and who it should be, building or zoning inspector. There was a mention of looking into pricing for different building inspection companies besides BIU. Zoning Officer Sanders asked about a trailer that was replaced in a flood zone without approval years back. There was discussion on that as well.
Motion to review and pay bills by Bartolotto, seconded by Bracey, all agreed.
