Supervisor Meeting Minutes – October 4, 2022

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building.  Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Rob Sanders, Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Police Chief Will Daforte, Karen Shaw, and Rieta Melvin, Judy Hatalsky and Rick Newton of CAPRI.

Meeting was called to order at 6:00.

Public participation:  Karen Shaw asked if the township could order the candles for the Christmas luminaries now and ask the solicitor for reimbursement later.  Sanders said he thought that was the plan so candles will be ordered.

Motion by Sanders to accept minutes as written with two corrections, meeting called to order time was missing and one punctuation error.  Seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.

Police Report: Chief Daforte reported around 58 citations have been written in the last month. They are starting out with a 0 tolerance policy to try to get people used to slowing down.  Discussion on a few complaints from residents.

Road report read. The only old business was that clean up was on Saturday.

In new business: The representatives of CAPRI handed out an update with 8 projects that have been identified by the McGuffey Area Master Revitalization Plan, four that are in the works and four that are planned for the future.  They are 1. Broadband, 2. Park & Rec Improvement Grant writing assistance, 3. Claysville Infrastructure Improvement, 4. Community Engagement(PR) Improvement, 5. I70/Rt 40 Infrastructure Improvement Study, 6. Dutch Form Improvement Study and 8. Claysville Parking Feasibility Study.   There was discussion of how the group was funded and different community needs, such as grant writing for the Sewage Project and water line expansion and how they could possibly assist the township.

Motion by Sanders to approve Heavy Haul agreement from CNX for a portion of Wilbert Way. Fee has been paid and bonding is in place.  Second by Dietrich, all agreed.

Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills.  Seconded by Bartolotto.  All agreed
