The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Patrick Bracey and Dave Dietrich, Zoning officer Bob Sanders, Todd Patress, Greg Dunn, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Doug Smith, Bruce Livingood.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00.
Public Participation: Randy made a suggestion about budgeting extra salary for training a person to work on road crew when Dave retires. There was a short discussion on that topic.
Todd Patress spoke for the Volunteer Fire Department, giving a short presentation on the State LSA grant the fire dept is applying for to purchase a new tanker truck. They are required to have a municipal sponsor and asked if the Township would be willing to pass a resolution applying for the grant on behalf of the VFD. If the grant is awarded, it will go to the Township, who will pass the funds along to the fire department.
After a discussion on trucks and the grant process, a motion was made by Bartolotto to pass Resolution 2 of 2024, applying for the Statewide LSA grant for the funds in the amount of $395,887.00 to purchase a tanker truck. Seconded by Bracey, all in favor.
Motion by Bartolotto to accept the minutes from the last meeting as written, seconded by Bracey, all agreed.
Road report was given by Dietrich.
Financial Report was available to review.
Police Report was read by Bartolotto.
Health Insurance renewal was budgeted at the price recommended by UPMC for the most comparable plan to the current plan. Motion by Bracey to approve the health plan renewal price of $3,274.67. Seconded by Bartolotto, all in favor.
The police agreement automatically renews with no changes if nothing is done by November 30. It was agreed that we will let that roll over with no price increase for 2025.
The 2025 proposed budget was available and will be in the office for public review. It will be available until passed as final at the last meeting in December, 2024. Motion by Bartolotto to approve the proposed budget, seconded by Bracey, all agreed.
Motion by Bartolotto to review and pay bills. Seconded by Dietrich. All agreed.
