Supervisor Meeting Minutes – March 4, 2025

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Patrick Bracey & Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Solicitor Dennis Makel, GCRPD Captain Bob Gahagan, Marty Finch, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Justin Foertsch, Michelle Wiksell, Shirley Harris, Doug & Pegg Smith, Mike & Billie Schwarz, PA Representative Tim O’Neal. The meeting was called to order at 7:00.

Public Participation: Doug had a question about the SunLife Policy, Mike asked about the new truck status (nothing new).

Motion by Bracey to accept the minutes from the previous meeting as written.  Seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.

Financial report was available for review.

Road report was available for review.

Police report will be posted in foyer.

Fire Report: 18 calls last month, 3 were answered during work hours.

Representative Tim O’Neal was present to answer questions. Marty Finch, Justin Foertsch, Dennis Makel and Randy Hamilton had comments or questions. Topics discussed were auto emissions inspections, flooding problems, road bonding amount increase, state funding due to federal cuts, Act 13 funds, and the number of representatives in PA.

Old Business: SunLife Policy renewal has been reviewed. Motion by Bracey to approve renewal as presented, seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.

Act 537 update was read, it included surveys done by WCSC, needs assessment, narrative components and possible locations.

The Zoning Hearing Board is still in need of a third member.

New Business: A notice was read about an anonymous letter sent to the township about the police department. Captain Gahagan read a statement in response.

The township audit for 2024 has been completed.

Motion by Bracey to approve the Heavy Haul agreement with EQT for portions of Harvey and Cabin Rd.   Seconded by Dietrich, all agreed.

The VFD was approached by a representative of Provident Insurance asking if they would like to review their policy to make a possible change. Because the township pays for the insurance, he also requested a meeting with the township. The township will wait until the fire department meets with them and then will decide whether to get more information. There was discussion on the new fire truck.

Motion by Bracey to review and pay bills, seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10
