Supervisor Meeting Minutes – March 19, 2024

The Supervisors of Morris Township met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building.  Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Patrick Bracey and Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Bruce Livingood, Greg Dunn, Tim Hamilton, Randy Hamilton, Doug & Pegg Smith, Anawanna Club President, Mike & Billie Schwarz. The meeting was called to order at 7:00.

Public Participation: Randy had comments on the VFD.  He doesn’t think the township contributes enough to them and has ideas on how funding could be done differently.

The Anawanna Club president asked about Fios installation out Plum Sock Rd. He was at the meeting representing the Anawanna Club and wants to know if they will be getting service. The Supervisors do not know if or when Verizon will make it out that way. We were told that all of Morris Twp would have service by the end of 2023 but that has not happened. There was discussion on funding for high-speed internet.

Financial Report was available for review.

Police Report was ready by Bartolotto.

Heavy Haul agreement from Consol for Elwood Day Rd has not been received by the Township yet. It will come back up for review when it is received.

There have been questions about the community picnic.  Discussion on asking for volunteers for a picnic committee.   Pam will post on the Prosperity page and ask if anyone is interested.

Discussion about burn permits for people who plan controlled burns for large amounts of property.  Makel will be consulted about the best way to move forward with the permit.

Spring Clean up day is scheduled for May 11.  Prices from Rozner’s and Republic were compared. Motion by Dietrich to use Rozner for the dumpsters for this year’s clean up, seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.

The spring turtle on the playground is broken. Discussion on replacing it or just leaving the two that we have there. The price for a new one is $1585 with $396 shipping. Motion by Bracey to order the new spring rider. Seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.
