Supervisor Meeting Minutes – June 20, 2023

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building.  Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Rob Sanders and Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Randy Hamilton and Police Chief Will DeForte.  Meeting was called to order at 6:00.

Public Participation: Randy Hamilton asked about bill for grant application for Act 537 Planning. Grant has been submitted and awards will be granted in September or November.

Motion by Sanders to accept the minutes from the previous meeting as written.  Seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.

Financial Report for May was available to review.

Police Report was given by Chief DeForte.  Over 1000 cars were timed last week, there were 6 traffic stops and two citations written.  There were 8 citations written last month.  We will be getting weekly reports, business check-ins will be done weekly and officers will try to increase visibility so that residents will know they are here.

Road Report was read.

Old Business:  Walking Trail- parking area has been formed and is ready to pour, base gravel has been put in place.  Excalibur is supposed to be sending a schedule for the rest of the work to the township.

Website has been updated to provide most recent information.

New Business:   There were two Heavy Haul agreements submitted from Consol but they are not complete so they will be tabled until all the information has been submitted.

A meeting with Representative Tim O’Neal will be scheduled with the Supervisors as we are now in a different district.   We will ask if he can be of any assistance with getting the streetlights updated.

There will be a tire/hazardous materials disposal up near the Wild Things Park this weekend. 

Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills, seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.
