Supervisor Meeting Minutes – July 19, 2022

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Dave Dietrich, Rob Sanders & Sam Bartolotto, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Greg Dunn, Dusty Stockdale, Tim Hamilton, Randy Hamilton, Doug Smith.

Meeting was called to order at 6:00.

Public Participation: Randy Hamilton asked about bids for walking trail. Rob Sanders explained that there was a mandatory meeting scheduled for the bidders and nobody attended so we had to cancel the bids for tonight. We will have to re-advertise the bid.

About the streetlights, we are still waiting for West Penn Power to get the order at the Washington Center. Two work requests have been put in but no word on a starting date yet.

On the truck that is in for repair: The motor is in but a code keeps coming up so the truck is not ready yet.

Doug Smith wants to know why the meetings are so short. Besides regular work of the township, there is not a lot of official business to decide now.

Randy asked about Jeff Mooney, who has broken his leg and is off for a while it heals. We’re not sure how long he will be out, hopefully we’ll know something soon.

Motion by Sanders to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as written. Seconded by Dietrich.  All agreed.

Financial Report was available to review. Road report given.

Old business: There has been another request from resident for State Police to monitor speed through the town. We have been in contact with the State Police and the Officer in charge has told us that radar would be unenforceable because there must be one mile between the radar use and the reduced speed limit sign. We have researched this and think it is incorrect and will investigate further to try to get some police presence in the township.

New business:  The second portion of the ARP funds is scheduled to arrive in August.  We received a small allotment this month.

Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills, seconded by Dietrich, all agreed.

Meeting adjourned at 6:20pm
