The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building. Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Sam Bartolotto, and Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Greg Dunn, Steve Mooney, Judy Moninger, Tim Hamilton, Randy Hamilton, Doug & Pegg Smith, Ken Grove, Jeff Mooney.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00.
Public Participation: Doug Smith had a question about the questionnaire that was sent out to a resident on Minton Run Rd. for the block grant.
Motion by Sanders to approve the minutes as written for the December 5 meeting. Seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.
Financial Report was available. Police report reviewed by Bartolotto. Road report given by Dietrich.
In old business: The streetlights are finally in the process of being replaced. Doug asked about the Christmas lights, but First Energy no longer allows them to be placed on the utility poles.
Fios has been installed at the Municipal building and the permit for crossing 221 has been approved by PennDOT so that the homes on this side of the road can start to get their fiber lines brought over.
Motion by Sanders to pass Resolution #7 of 2023 setting the tax rate for 2024 with no increase.
The rate is .730 mills. Divided, at .486 for the general fund, .122 mills for the capital fund and .122 mills for the fire department. Seconded by Dietrich, all agreed.
Motion by Sanders to pass Resolution #8 of 2023, approving the budget for 2024. Seconded by Bartolotto, all agreed.
Motion by Sanders to pass Resolution #9 of 2023 to appoint a CPA firm to perform the audit for the year of 2023. Seconded by Dietrich, all agreed.
Motion by Sanders to approve the updated heavy haul agreements for Lindley Hill, French Hill and Pie Ridge Roads and an escrow agreement for those roads with Range Resources. Seconded by Dietrich. All agreed.
Motion by Sanders to renew the heavy haul agreement with EQM for a small portion of Pie Ridge Rd. Seconded by Dietrich, all agreed.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of a Subdivision request from Kenneth & Tracie Grove dividing a 1.8 acre plot from their property on Pie Ridge Rd. Approval was obtained from Washington County Sewage Authority. Motion by Sanders to approve, seconded by Dietrich. All agreed.
Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills, seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.
