The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the municipal building. Present were Supervisors Sam Bartolotto & Patrick Bracey, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Police Chief Will DeForte, Mike & Billie Schwarz, Tim Hamilton, Randy Hamilton, Shirley Harris.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm.
Public Participation: Randy asked about the truck status and Act 13 Funds amount, which decreased from last year. This year’s amount was $364,714.01. He also had a comment about the Act 537 planning decision.
Motion by Bartolotto to accept the minutes from the last meeting as written with one correction of a hearing date from Aug 2 to Aug 8. Seconded by Bracey.
Police report was given by Chief DeForte.
The fire report was read by Secretary as Dietrich was not present. There were 26 calls last month. Four were answered during work hours.
Old business: On the Dry Run slips…Bracey reported a meeting with CNX on site. CNX will be performing road borings and trying to figure out the best way to fix the road.
Act 537 Planning interviews are being conducted Wednesday and Thursday for the top tentatively scoring firms.
Heavy Haul agreements for CNX for Archer and Covered Bridge are up for renewal. Engineering reports have been done and feed paid. Motion by Bartolotto to approve, seconded by Bracey.
There are 8 other roads up for renewal but the reports aren’t complete yet so those will be on hold
until the next meeting.
Motion by Bartolotto to approve and pay bills. Seconded by Bracey.
The meeting will be continued until Thursday, August 8 at 6:00 to allow for a decision to be made on the Act 537 Planning after the interviews take place.
The meeting resumed at 6:02 on Thursday, August 8.
The submitting firms’ proposals were discussed and scores were finalized.
The top scoring firm was Stiffler-McGraw at 93.67. Motion by Bracey to appoint Stiffler-McGraw to prepare the Act 537 update, seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.
