Supervisor Meeting Minutes – August 16, 2022

The Morris Township Supervisors met for their regular meeting at the Municipal Building.  Present were supervisors Sam Bartolotto, Dave Dietrich and Rob Sanders, Solicitor Dennis Makel, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Helen Myers, Dusty Stockdale, Greene County Regional Police Chief Will DaForte, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Doug Smith, Patrick Bracey.

Meeting was called to order at 6:00.

Public Participation:  Randy asked about streetlights, no info yet. Update on Jeff, how long will he be out, we don’t know. Schedule for walking trail bids, we’re planning for February so that it can be done first thing in the spring. 

Motion by Sanders to approve minutes from last meeting as written. Seconded by Bartolotto. All agreed.

Road Report read.

Old Business:  Truck was repaired and returned but Dave found it was leaking antifreeze.  It is back in for more service. The next picnic meeting is scheduled for Aug. 23 at 6:00.

New Business:  Will DaForte gave a quick synopsis of what the department can provide for anyone who missed the last meeting. Dusty asked if they will respond at any time if there are break ins, etc… Will said yes, they will be doing 100% of responses and investigations for those calls.  Randy had questions on cost to the township (approx. $45/hr), How have things changes from last time they were providing service, asked about their financial stability, monthly reporting.  Will has agreed to come to one meeting a month to report on activities. Helen Myers stated that many of the families in the area have small children and she is very thankful for the Supervisors taking the initiative to do this. Bob Sanders asked about speed limits on back roads. There was more discussion on scheduling and reporting.

Motion by Sanders to enter into agreement with GCRPD, which also adopts an agreement with GCRPD, for a period of four months, from September to December 2022 with the following conditions:

  1. There be a township liaison to the Department (Sam Bartolotto has agreed to do this)
  2. GCRPD provide township with monthly written reports.
  3. Cost will be 4,590 per month
  4. No later than November 15, 2022, parties will begin negotiations for successor agreement or to terminate future agreement.
  5. GCRPD to provide accounting of time to the satisfaction of the Morris Township Supervisors.

Motion seconded by Dietrich. All agreed.

Motion by Sanders to approve Heavy Haul agreements with CNX for the following roads; Penn Hill, Deer Park, Archer, Harvey, Cabin, Dry Run and Timberline. Applications, fees and bonds are in place.  Seconded by Dietrich. All Agreed.

Fall Clean up is scheduled for Saturday, October 1 from 7am to 4pm.

Motion by Sanders to approve and pay bills.  Seconded by Dietrich.   All agreed
