Minutes ~ Board of Supervisors Meeting ~ June 2, 2026

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Township Municipal Building.

CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL

All Board members were present for the meeting.  Chairman Bracey called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. 

Also in attendance were Marty Finch, Greg Dunn, Dan Watt, Doug and Pegg Smith, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Karen Shaw, Marcy Lindley, and Gary Harrison.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

All attendees present stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

The minutes from the May monthly meeting were previously distributed to the Board.  Chairman Bracey motioned to approve the minutes.  Motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Finch.  All in favor, Ayes: 3, motion carried. 

UNFINSHED BUSINESS

The Township received a quote from Tech by Dale regarding IT updates for internet and phone services.  Dale included two cost options for security cameras as well.  Chairman Bracey motioned to approve the proposal including the enhanced camera option for an additional $5400.00.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Coffield.  All in favor, Ayes: 3, motion carried. 

NEW BUSINESS                             

There were a few resident complaints regarding noise coming from the NV34 gas well.  As Morris Township does have a noise ordinance, the decibel levels will be checked.  Contact will be attempted to be made with a Diversified representative as well. 

TOWNSHIP REPORTS & PRESENTATIONS

The Assistant Roadmaster prepared an electronic public works report.  It is available for review upon request.  The report includes a description of the weekly tasks performed by the Road Crew for the month of June. 

The Morris Twp Fire Department submitted a call report for the Board.  There were 15 calls last month making the year to date total 106.

There was no Solicitor report.

The 2025 audit was completed by the CPA at William T. Grimm.  They submitted an audit report for the Supervisors.

The Secretary presented the financial report for each of the bank accounts.  Each account was reconciled at the end of the month in the QuickBooks program.  A reconciliation report was provided to the Board of Supervisors.  The financial report contains the ending balances for each of the accounts for the previous month. 

SUPERVISORS’ COMMENT

The Township received a report and invoice from Stiffler/McGraw regarding the Act 537 planning.  Chairman Bracey read the report. 

Chairman Bracey also updated the audience on the outcome of the Union petition vote.  The vote was anonymous with a 50/50 split.  The vote outcome would have had to been 51% to pass, therefore the determination was for no representation. 

PUBLIC COMMENT

Doug Smith reminded the Board about the sign that was saved at clean up days.  Doug will bring the sign down to the building to be unloaded.  The sign will be put on display in the Township. 

ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

An itemized list of expenditures for May was presented to the Board.  This also includes a check for the pension contribution for the month of May.

Chairman Bracey motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 pm.
