Supervisor Meeting Minutes – August 6, 2019

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township meeting room for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Dave Dietrich and Zoning Officer Bob Sanders. Supervisor Doug Smith arrived later in the meeting.     

Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.  Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to approve the minutes as read.

In old business, VFD decided not to have a classic car show this year. 

The Range Contractor’s project on Pie Ridge Road is complete.  Mark Crouch had a complaint about having trouble getting in and out of his field due to the thickness of the pavement.  We are still waiting of the Covered Bridge Road guiderails.  Archer Road was patched. 

Community Service was completed by area teen and township signed off on the completed work. 

The Abbadini Zoning Hearing was held earlier this evening and the Zoning Hearing Board granted set back variance request.

Smith felt that PSATS would possibly know which townships might have an exotic animal ordinance.

Barone Lettering completed the etching of Edwin L. Martin’s name upon the Vietnam Memorial stone. 

Seismic testing will begin in Morris Township by the beginning of September and is scheduled to end by the end of September. 

There were two sealed bids for the back end of Weir Cole Road, Asphalt project.  1.  El Grande, $45,788.05 and East American (Formerly Force) $49,277.70.  Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to award low bid to El Grande. 

Smith asked if the township has been receiving updated laterals from gas companies. Secretary referred him to the Oil and Gas Act 223/13 and that the forms received are in the office and can be viewed. 

In new business, CNX paved some more of Cabin Road that intersects with Harvey Road to minimize dirt and dust being tracked onto Harvey Road in the area closer to Mount Zion Road.

Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to review and pay bills.  Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 8:11 P.M.
