Supervisor Meeting Minutes – September 1, 2020

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular scheduled meeting at the municipal building. Present were Supervisors Dave Dietrich, Rob Sanders and Doug Smith, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Amber & Mike Falosk, Greg Dunn, Les & Nancy Palombine.

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm.  Motion by Sanders to accept minutes from last meeting as read. 2nd by Smith. All agreed.

In old business, the monument moving was discussed again.  The park restrooms are being ordered.  A sample list of park rules were presented, they will be reviewed.  The Palombines and Falosks inquired about the status of their complaint. A letter was sent and 30 days were given to comply.  A citation will be filed at the magistrate if they haven’t done anything by the deadline.  After the magistrate, it will be up to the complainants to take it further.

The Redevelopment Authority has bid out the Weir Cole asphalt job and sent the information on cost for completing the part of the road not covered by the grant.   Motion made by Sanders to pay the $27,299.25 to the Washington County Redevelopment Authority for the contractor to complete the road.  2nd by Smith. All approved.

Smith asked about the resolution from March about having only one Road Master.

The solicitor said that the resolution would not be effective as the new board could make a new resolution to change it if they wanted to.  Smith will speak with solicitor about it.

In new business: The township received a resignation letter from Auditor Marlyn Dorsey.  Joe Bails attended the meeting and has expressed interest.  After some questions by Smith, a motion was made by Dietrich to appoint Joe Bails as Auditor. 2nd by Smith.  All approved.

Smith brought up a concern he has about a smear campaign that he has heard about against him.  He has heard that someone is trying to make him look bad so that he loses the next election. Would like it on the record that he thinks it is a disgusting act of politics. Discussion ensued.

Motion by Smith to adopt the updated pension plan. 2nd by Dietrich.

Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills. 2nd by Smith.

Meeting adjourned at 8:27pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Pamela Bartolotto/Secretary
