The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township office for their regular scheduled meeting. Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Davie Dietrich, Doug Smith, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders and Zoning Hearing Board member, Dusty Stockdale. As Secretary Lesnock was away, Marissa King attended the meeting to take the minutes.
Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to accept the minutes with two small corrections. It was a VFW that officered to fundraise on behalf of the non-profit “Clean up our county”, not a VFD. Also, regarding Lamperski, the word quiet was misspelled.
In old business, Rob Sanders and Dave Dietrich went to Lamperski’s to take sound readings twice. It was 45 DB at the property line. The only place the sound reading was even close to 65 DB was at the fence line that surrounds the well site on the land that Mr. Lamperski owns. At this point, the township will not get involved as there is no violation of the noise ordinance.
Regarding a possible exotic animal ordinance, as the State has exotic animal ownership well regulated, the supervisors will not pursue an exotic animal ordinance.
In new business, Secretary received a complaint from Randy Hamilton about 2 unregistered/unlicensed vehicles on township property near the cinder shed. The first one is owned by the VFD and is used for training. The other is owned by the Watt family of the village of Prosperity. Dietrich spoke to the Watts, they will remove the vehicle from township property. When the VFD finishes using their vehicle for training purposes, it too will be removed.
McGuffey Baseball requested to use the township ball fields for practice. They have provided a copy of liability insurance. Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to approve the use of the fields by McGuffey.
Dietrich received a call from Jon Carter. He stated he does not want Fairfield Geotechnologies to do any seismic testing on Dunham Road (TR-465) that borders his property. The township has approved an excess weight agreement with Fairfield for overweight vehicles on township roads. Dietrich spoke with Gary Wayland the Project Manager for Fairfield to relay Jon Carter’s info. The township is not involved any further than issuing the heavy haul permit. Smith stated that Bruce Livingood stopped similar testing on Prosperity Pike (SR-0018) in front of his property years ago.
Township received a letter from JoAnna Niecgorski of Consol requesting a variance for a power line near Penn Hill Road. Smith stated they will need to request a hearing before the zoning board.
Walsh Equipment has delivered a demo skid steer loader to the township so that the township can try it out and determine if we would want to get a quote on a skid steer loader.
PSATS Classes are available in Washington County Thursday October 10 and Friday October 11.
Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to review and pay bills. Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:06 P.M.
