Supervisor Meeting Minutes – September 20, 2016

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township office for their regular scheduled meeting. Present were Supervisors Dusty Stockdale, Doug Smith, Dave Dietrich, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Carl Sanders and Rob Sanders.

Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion by Smith, second by Stockdale to approve minutes as read.

In old business, Supervisors discussed Magistrate Fines that are generated in Morris Township of Washington County and then paid to Morris Township of Greene County since the Morris Township Greene County Police Department are contracted out by Morris of Washington County.

Concerning the Hathaway’s dilapidated property, Motion by Smith, second by Stockdale to proceed to the Washington County Court of Common Pleas once the 90 day time frame has passed since the receipt of the N.O.V. by Mr. Hathaway. Nothing has been done and no appeal by the Hathaway’s has been initiated. Discussion ensued.

Dietrich stated that the Ringland Ridge Road slip has been repaired and the road is open again.

Regarding Rob Sanders earlier request that he work on the park pavilion as an employee of the township, Rob has rescinded that request. Sanders would rather bid out the work and keep the peace. Smith stated that he wasn’t opposed to Sanders doing the work as an employee, just that there needed to be a cap on the hours. Rob Sanders gave a verbal quote of $4,300.00. He will replace crooked post, use 29 gage white metal for ceiling, install soffit and fascia and enclose all open areas on the ceiling. Motion by Smith, second by Dietrich to go with Rob Sanders quote. All agreed.

Concerning the repaid bridge replacement project on Plum Sock Road near Weir Cole Road, Secretary sent an email to Marosky Engineering and let them know that they would need to come before the board with their request to have the township sign off on their project. Discussion ensued over the issue that it is a state road and the township does not own the bridge in the project.

Dietrich submitted an estimated bill to McIntyre’s of Bells Lake Road for road repairs as their contractors excessive traveling of Bells Lake Road has damaged it. McIntyre’s agreed to the price and will send a check to the township for the repair work. Once township receives check, materials will be ordered.

Log Cabin Fence Company will be here sometime next week to install new tarp on the superstructure.

Nathan Voytek has not contacted Dietrich with the start date for the Weir Cole Road grant project.

In new business, Secretary Lesnock presented the 2017 Minimum Municipal Obligation for PMRS.

Door-to-Door Trick-or-Treat will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.

Motion by Smith, second by Dietrich to review and pay bills. Motion by Dietrich, second by Smith to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Lesnock, Secretary
