Supervisor Meeting Minutes – March 19, 2019

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township meeting room for the regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Dave Dietrich, Doug Smith, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders and Carl Sanders.  Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.  Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to approve the minutes.  Dietrich agreed.

In old business, the storage building has the metal siding installed and the contractor is prepping for the concrete. 

The Employee handbook final draft has not yet been received back from Attorney Hook’s office.

Carole’s Custom Cleaning will clean on a Saturday.  

Pam Bartolotto is willing to instruct Secretary Lesnock on how to use Quickbooks.  Supervisors agreed to compensate Bartolotto.

Received CNX 1/3 share of the cost to repair the Dry Run Road slip from 2018.  The township is still waiting for Consol to pay their 1/3 share.  Discussion ensued over the settling of the Dry Run Road slip repair. 

In new business, Ohio Valley Septic will deliver the porta johns for the park.  Gene Crouch submitted a bid of $250.00 per mowing for the 2019 park mowing season.  Motion by Dietrich, second by Sanders to accept Gene Crouch mowing bid of $250.00 per mowing.  Smith agreed.

Township received a seasonal employment application from Chuck Conaway for mowing the sides of the township roads.  Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to hire Chuck Conaway at $15.00 per hour with no benefits.  He must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test prior to starting employment. 

Chairman Sanders wants to schedule a discussion with Attorney Hook to find out the extent to which the Act 13 funds can be used.  He wants to know if some payroll can be paid from Act 13 if the work done is due to oil/gas issues on the township roads.  Lesnock will contact Hook about this when Hook returns from Florida.

Smith stated that he received some initial info that the workshop scheduled for Wednesday March 27 at 9:00 A.M., between Range and Morris Township will concern the plans for drilling additional Marcellus Shale wells on existing well pads Whitmer, Sten and Castro.  Discussion ensued.  Dietrich stated that core samples had been taken from Pie Ridge.  Discussion ensued.

Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to review and pay bills.  Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 8:33 P.M.
