Supervisor Meeting Minutes – June 2, 2020

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were supervisors Rob Sanders, Doug Smith and Dave Dietrich.  Zoning officer Bob Sanders, Bruce Livingood, Randy Hamilton, Tim Hamilton.

Meeting called to order at 7:30.  Motion by Sanders to accept minutes from May 19 meeting as read.  Second by Smith. All agreed.

Old business: Clean up is Saturday.

Randy Hamilton asked if extra advice from CPA throughout the year could be requested when getting quotes on audits. Also asked about inventory of equipment.

Walking trail grant was brought up by Sanders.  Smith stated that he is not ok with the township putting out any extra cash for the project.  He was under the impression that contributions would be in work, not money.  Grant is still in the approval stage, so nothing is definite yet.  The details will be determined and the grant does not have to be accepted if we’re not happy with the amounts.

New business: Smith brought up a concern from resident Aileen Smith about an oil spill on Weir Cole Rd. He went to investigate but found nothing.  Randy Hamilton said they sweep the road frequently.  It was likely cleaned up before Smith arrived.   Discussion on the fact that Range is still fracking.

Request from Greg Dunn to move the veterans’ memorial from it’s current location to the municipal park. Discussion on who owns the parcel where it is currently. Smith suggested that we advertise to see if anyone objects.  Sanders will check into what it would take to get it moved first.

Dietrich brought up a leveling project for the upper end of Bells Lake Rd.   Weir Cole, Quaker, and Ealy have been done most recently.    Will advertise for bids.

Discussion on whether seasonal employees are eligible for holiday pay.  It was decided that since it’s not in the manual, they are not.

Since the county is now in green phase, it is ok to open the park up for reservations.

Bruce Livingood is going to be setting up some temporary structures for office space and storing his equipment due to undermining.  Discussion on permitting process.

Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to approve and pay bills. All agreed

Motion to adjourn at 8:24 by Sanders, second by Smith. All agreed.

Respectfully Submitted,
Pamela Bartolotto/Secretary
