Supervisor Meeting Minutes – July 3, 2018

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township office for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, David Dietrich, Doug Smith, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Township Solicitor Bill Hook. 

Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 9:00 P.M.  The meeting began late due to the previous Supervisors Hearing.  Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  The financial report was made available for inspection.  Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to approve the minutes as read. 

In old business, there were two bids for the demolition of the Hathaway property on Grove Road.  D.R. Construction $9,250.00 and APEX Earth & Pipe, $8,500.00.  Solicitor Hook and Supervisors discussed the need to update the Notice of Violation to include the contents of structures and explain what will happen to the contents.  Motion by Chairman Sanders, second by Smith to award demo bid to APEX Earth and Pipe.  Proof of their liability insurance is required.  Hook will draft updated Notice of Violation for Zoning Officer Bob Sanders to sign. 

Dietrich discussed the Greene County Regional Police Department activity report.  He stated he does not feel the police department are providing Morris Township with the service or the coverage that is needed, as was defined in the contract.  Dietrich referred to the activity report from 2017 that had as many traffic citations in one month as there has been in the first six (6) months of this year.  Discussion ensued.

Motion by Dietrich, second by Sanders to review and pay bills.  Motion by Dietrich, second by Smith to adjourn. 

Meeting adjourned at 9:29 P.M.
