Meeting Minutes

Supervisor Meeting Minutes – July 17, 2018

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township office for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Dave Dietrich, Doug Smith, Solicitor Bill Hook, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Carl Sanders, CNX Representatives Andrew Kinter and Ryan Aubuchon and Noise Solutions Representative Andrew Paolette., and Court Stenographer Kim Strnisha.

Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 7:38 P.M., and the continued conditional use hearing for the CNX Compressor Station on Archer Road took place.  Court Stenographer Strnisha recorded this portion of the continued hearing.  After the continued hearing ended at 8:45 P.M., Chairman Sanders asked for the reading of the previous meetings minutes.  Motion by Smith, second by Dietrich to approve the minutes as read.

In old business, regarding CNX Conditional Use request for Compressor Stations on Archer Road, Supervisors will make their decision at the next Supervisors meeting of Tuesday August 7, 2018.  Also, the zoning hearing board will hold a hearing on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at 7:00 P.M., to hear and decide upon a height variance request by CNX for the flare stack.

Regarding the Hathaways, township has not yet received the signed certified mail receipt from the Hathaways after sending them the updated Notice of Violation.  APEX was notified of their winning bid for demotion. Discussion ensued.

Vice Chairman Dietrich and Chairman Sanders both discussed at length their dissatisfaction with the Greene County Regional Police Department.  Neither of them thinks that we are getting the hours of serviced promised to our township and the police indicated themselves that they had not been able to provide us with hours of service due to personnel changes.  There has not been much visible presence of the Regional Police within our township.  Supervisors want our Police Contract reviewed to see if the contract can be broken due to the police not fulfilling the contractual obligations.  Solicitor Hook indicated that he cannot give an opinion on the contract as he also represents the Greene County Regional Police Department.  Secretary will ask around to see if another solicitor will review the contract for us.  Discussion ensued.

Secretary Lesnock contacted Kurtz Monument to see what they will charge to engrave two veteran’s names on the Vietnam Memorial.  The cost would be $605.00 and that would include both names. Kurtz felt the work could be done within 6 to 8 weeks.   Township still trying to get Moreland Vault to reimburse our previous payment as they have not performed the engraving work. Motion by Smith, Second by Sander to hire Kurtz Monuments.

Motion by Dietrich, second by Sanders to review and pay bills.  Motion by Dietrich, second by Sanders to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 9:22 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Lesnock, Secretary
