The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township office for their regular scheduled meeting. Present were Supervisors Dave Dietrich, David Stockdale, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Planning Commission member Randy Hamilton, Carl Sanders and Supervisor Doug Smith arrived later during the meeting.

Vice Chairman Dave Dietrich called the meeting to order at 7:32 P.M. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

In old business, Dietrich spoke with Matt Ruckle of Consol and Matt stated that he did not think the water line extension would be happening this year.

Concerning the possible revised site plan for the township building, Stockdale wants to leave the drawings as is and Dietrich felt that a new site plan needed drawn. Supervisors will wait for Smith to arrive at the meeting to discuss further.

Dietrich met with Charlie Richmond, Contractor for Consol and Dietrich told Richmond that Morris Township wants all road improvements and construction for new bypass road spelled out in detail before township is willing to sign road closure agreement with Consol. Township has not heard anything back from Consol concerning this matter.

Secretary spoke with Melinda Duncan, Tax Collector for West Finley Township and she has agreed to be Morris Township’s Deputy Tax Collector.

Mona Lee Sanders may be interested in serving as Township Auditor due to the passing of Martha Dille. If so, the Supervisors will act on her appointment at the next Supervisors meeting.

After Smith arrived at the meeting, discussion continued concerning the township building plan site. Stockdale stated that he wants to keep the original site plan and by doing so will not create any more delays. While Smith stated he could see some advantages to having the site plan redrawn that turns the building, he did not want to see the project delayed any longer than it already has been delayed. Motion by Smith, second by Stockdale to keep plans as drawn with the exception of a slight change to the entrance driveway, removal of dumpster from the plans and check to see if it would be possible to have the retention pond moved from its current location across the park road and into the wooded area near the porta johns. Dietrich objected to the motion of keeping current site plan. Motion passed 2 to 1.

Mike Verner is working on finishing the township website.

In new business, Carl Sanders asked if the township could cement the area underneath the pavilion at the park. He stated that it would make it easier for people in wheelchairs to maneuver the pavilion area during picnics. Motion by Dietrich, second by Stockdale to get a quote to cement pavilion area.

Motion by Stockdale, second by Dietrich to review and pay bills. Motion by Smith, second by Dietrich to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:08 P.M.
