Supervisor Meeting Minutes – December 18, 2018

The Morris Township Board of Supervisors met at the township meeting room for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Dave Dietrich, Doug Smith, Zoning Officer Bob Sanders, Carl Sanders, Dusty Stockdale, Doug Stockdale and Mike Shymchyk.

Chairman Sanders called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.  Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Mike Shymchyk stated that the mud is being dragged from the impoundment site and not as much from the well site.  Correction was noted.  Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to approve minutes as corrected.

In old business, Chairman Sanders stated they went to view Donegal Township’s new building that was constructed by Blair Contractors.  He said the building looked well-constructed.  After a brief time of discussion, Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to award the storage building contract to low bidder Blair Contracting.  Their low bid was $131,300.00.  Dietrich agreed.  Secretary to contact Harshman Engineering so the contract can be completed and signed.

Regarding the Harvey Road issues, Sanders and Dietrich both spoke with Steve Quinn of CNX.  He stated he would contact Shymchyk and Rosa McMullen.  Mike stated that he was never contacted by anyone from CNX.  Rob or Dave will contact Rosa McMullen to see if Steve Quinn contacted her.  Mike said the ditches are still a problem.  Discussion ensued.

Regarding Jim Zediker’s previous complaint, Dietrich spoke with Matt Ruckle of Consol and Matt stated that the nearest abandoned gas well is approximately 2000 feet away from Mr. Zedikers house that is located on Grove Road.  At nearly ½ mile away, there should be no problem with the old well to cause Mr. Zediker’s house to shake, as he previously told the supervisors.  The secretary also previously contacted Mr. Zediker’s neighbor across the road from Mr. Zediker’s house and Mr. Krenzelak told secretary he has never felt the ground, or his own home shaking.  Discussion ensued.

Regarding the 2019 proposed budget, Motion by Sanders, second by Dietrich to adopt the 2019 Budget. All agreed.  Tax rate will remain unchanged. All agreed.

Doug Stockdale and Dusty Stockdale presented the Stockdale Subdivision to the board.  The Sewage Planning Module was complete and is compliant.  Motion by Dietrich, second by Smith to approve the Stockdale subdivision.  All agreed.

Motion by Dietrich, second by Smith to review and pay bills.  Motion by Sanders, second by Smith to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 8:21 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Lesnock, Secretary
