Supervisor Meeting Minutes – April 7, 2020

The Morris Township board of supervisors met for their regular scheduled meeting.  Present were Supervisors Rob Sanders, Doug Smith and Dave Dietrich.  There was no public attendance due to the order by the Governor to stay at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  There were no emailed or called in comments or questions from any residents.

Meeting was called to order at 7:32.  

Motion by Sanders to accept minutes from March 3 meeting.  2nd by Smith. All agreed.

Motion by Smith to adopt declaration of disaster emergency.  2nd by Dietrich,  All agreed.

Motion by Sanders for resolution to apply for DCNR grant for a walking trail around the park.

Harshman CE group will assist in preparing application and gathering information necessary to obtain grant.  2nd by Smith.  All agreed.

It was mentioned that the historical society driveway will be blacktopped courtesy of CNX.

Motion By Sanders to award park mowing contract for summer 2020 to Gene Crouch at $250 per mowing.

Motion by Smith to tentatively move clean up day to June 6.  2nd by Sanders. All agreed

Motion by Smith to speak to Jeff Mooney and see if he would be interested in getting his position back with the township.  2nd by Dietrich. 

Pam & Marissa are requesting a locking mailbox to be placed at the end of the township drive.  Will be discussed again after talking to the post office.

Discussion on Chuck Conaway’s seasonal position mowing the roadways.  It was determined that it will wait until after the disaster emergency is lifted.  Motion by Sanders to raise his rate by $1.00. Second by Dietrich.  Smith thought .50 would be sufficient, as it is 3%.   After discussion, all agreed to $1.00.

El Grande called to say they will pave the end of Weir Cole as soon as they are back up and running.

Trees will be trimmed on Friday, weather permitting.

Motion by Sanders to review and pay bills.  2nd by Dietrich.  All agreed

Motion by Sanders to adjourn at 8:04, 2nd by Smith.  All agreed.
